Thank you so much for the opportunity to include our program. Here is a little background about it:
1972: Cuyahoga Community College formed the PA Program at the Western campus, the former site for the Crile Veterans Administration Hospital. Students attended classes in old military barracks.
March 1974: Cuyahoga Community College PA Program became the FIRSTaccredited PA program in Ohio.
1975: Students from Cuyahoga Community College PA Program established a professional society, which we now call the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants, with currently more than 500 members.
2006: Changes in Ohio State Law require practicing PA in Ohio to graduate from an accredited PA Program with a Master's Degree. This law was the motivation to form our current collaborative PA Program between Cuyahoga Community College and Clevleand State University.
2013: Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University are preparing to graduate its 5th cohort of PA students who will receive a Master's of Science in Health Science (MSHS) from Cleveland State University and a Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Cuyahoga Community College
