Veterans Caucus Memorial Scholarship
This Veterans Caucus scholarship is sponsored by CDR Steve Jacobs, PA-C, USN, MSC, DFAAPA (retired) in honor of his first cousin whom he says was “more like a brother”. Steve was only 13 years old when Roger was Killed in Action. He states that his loss inspired him to become a Fleet Marine Force corpsman and later to become a Physician Assistant. The PFC Roger W. Cummins scholarship is to the veteran, active duty, surviving spouse or child of a US Marine or Navy Corpsman who has served with the United States Marine Corps, who is currently enrolled in a PA training program. PFC Roger W Cummings was a highly motivated heroic individual who paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country and fellow Marines and the scholarship serves as a living memorial to him.

PFC Albert Thomas Kissel, US Army
Veterans Caucus Memorial Scholarship
PFC Albert T. Kissel, US Army, is the father of Ms. Josanne Pagels, the Past President of the AAPA. Albert T. Kissel Scholarship is donated in the memory of the father of Josanne Kissel Pagel. Army Pvt. Kissel served in World War II (Philippines) and Korea. Due to long term exposure to jungle conditions, Pvt. Kissel suffered many heart, skin and joint conditions that were treated at the Veterans Administration. This scholarship is given to a PA who is a returned or retired veteran of any branch of the armed services who directly serves veterans. It is ideally designed to assist the creation of innovative programs for veterans. Examples of programs: RWB (Red, White and Blue), and others.

SSGT Robert V. Milner, USAF
Veterans Caucus Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provided by Rear Admiral Mike Milner, DHSc, PA-C, Assistant United States Surgeon General, United States Public Health Service (retired) and his wife Patricia Castillo, MHA, PA-C, recognizes either a US Air Force veteran or dependent of a US Air Force veteran enrolled in PA training. This scholarship serves to memorialize the life and faithful service to his country of his father, SSgt Robert V. Milner, USAF who served during the Korean War and the Berlin Airlift operations and acknowledges his father’s dedicated service to his community, friends, and country.

This scholarship is provided by Adeline E. Brace and family, and recognizes either a US Air Force veteran or dependent of a US Air Force veteran enrolled in PA training. This scholarship serves to memorialize the life and faithful service to his country of her late husband, Sgt. Frederick C Brace Jr., USANG, who also served as a volunteer fireman/paramedic with the Holbrook Fire Department on Long Island for 30+ years. This scholarship acknowledges her husband’s dedicated service to his community, friends, and country. Additionally, Ms. Linda Brace, Captain Frederick C. Brace III’s widow is a cosponsor of this award to acknowledge and celebrate her husband’s life; Captain Brace was a US Air Force veteran and a dedicated member of the Veterans Caucus Board of Directors until his death.

Frank M. Corcoran
Veterans Caucus Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is to acknowledge the dedication to the Physician Assistant (PA) profession by Mr. Frank M. Corcoran (1936-2015). Frank was a former US Marine who became a pharmaceutical executive after leaving the Marine Corps. He was a strong supporter of Physician Assistants and became a good friend of the Veterans Caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He will be remembered for his steadfast patriotism, his love of the US Marine Corps and his love of his wife, Kathleen, who along with many friends, family members and the Board of Directors of the Veterans Caucus, have made this scholarship possible.
