VA NEWS JAN 2015

VA Health Care:

Effective January 1, 2015 (back dated) all Veterans who apply for VA health Care will no longer need to count assets.
What Does This Mean – VA will only consider a veteran's previous year’s gross household income (earned and unearned income) and deductible expenses to determine eligibility and/or copay responsibility for purposes of VA health care enrollment/benefit purposes. This is a potential game changer for many veterans who were reluctant to apply for VA health care due to asset disclosure requirements, and means that many veterans will not be burdened with large co-pays and decreased eligibility due to their assets.
